Fill plastic containers with textural items, such as rice or beans.

Place your jewelry piece and a decorative item in the beans or rice, and photograph them using the macro setting and natural light.

A small table-top tripod comes in handy here.

Keep a selection of decorative items, such as silk flowers or seashells, that would enhance the color of the piece you are photographing.

wood burl jewelry display

I found a very eye catching display for jewelry in the form of wood burls. I drilled small holes into the branches extending out from the burl to prevent the wood from splitting, and then twisted in some gold-tone cup hangers into the holes.

Next I drilled some larger holes into the burl itself to stand hair sticks or whatever into.

I'm sure any kind of wood burl would work, but I used myrtlewood.

When drilling into a hard wood, be sure to use a very hard steel, go slowly and be patient. I have two drillbits still broken off in one of my burls!

This is an especially nice jewelry display idea for Spring and Summer shows, or venues in "beachy" locations.

You can use real or silk flowers, arranged in a vase or other interesting container.

Flowers are always eye-catching, and this can be a really effective way to showcase one special ring that draws attention to the rest of your ring display.

This can also be a wonderful way to pose your jewelry when you photograph it for your website or marketing literature.

I like displaying my jewelry creations in unique ways, especially when the viewers don't have the ability to see the items firsthand.

One of my favorite displays was of a 'caterpillar bracelet' I made as a special order for a customer, photographed as it rested next to a dandelion:

I also displayed two of them lying together on a leafy shrub:

They are caterpillars, after all! Weeds can be pretty, too!

If your display needs to look good for multiple days, consider getting some of those extremely realistic artificial roses from your local craft store.

The silk flowers with real-looking artificial dewdrops on the petals are especially lovely in a [tag]romantic jewelry display[/tag].

As long as your branch is mostly horizontal and free of thorns, you can have a "jewelry tree" at your [tag]booth[/tag].

Earrings can be hung on or off their earring cards this way.

You can leave your branch its natural color, or spray paint it white, black, or another color to contrast with your jewelry.

When using tree branches as [tag]jewelry displays[/tag], other natural elements in your booth (such as rocks, crystals, and shells) make beautiful accents.

[tag]Hanging earrings[/tag] on a branch is also a good way to photograph them.

This sterling silver bracelet is stunning draped over a natural crystal cluster. Rocks of all sorts are a natural complement to jewelry.

[tag]Mineral specimens[/tag] can also attract attention to your display, especially if you use large, unusual, or colorful ones.

I often set some large, natural gemstone chunks around my [tag]jewelry display[/tag] as an interesting conversation point with customers.

Many people don't think of the gems in their jewelry as originating from a big chunk of rock!
